# Notice diagnostic register instructions

Use one case per affected payer/account/notice evaluation. Use separate action rows for evidence collection and diagnostic handoffs. The action register is a starter checklist with open tasks; it is not the completed action history for the worked cases, which are ready for tax review. Update task status and dates together in your own case records. All example records are synthetic. Dates are blank because they must come from the actual notice and receipt record.

This register does not select the IRS response, calculate legal deadlines, or replace the notice and Publication 1281. Promptly provide the complete packet to a qualified tax owner so diagnostic work does not delay required action. Ready for tax review is not resolved.

Preserve original submitted records, current records, and dated changes separately. BN-001 agrees across records; BN-002 has a post-filing change; BN-003 has a mapping error. Do not put full tax identifiers, actual notices, or personal documents into this CSV. Use restricted evidence references.

The article's batch example is 12 affected records out of 200, or 6%. It is a finding for that batch, not a general error rate. Expand an investigation based on evidence rather than presuming all batch records have the same issue. CSVs are plain values.
