As we wrap 2023, I want to thank our customers and community for supporting Wingspan.
This year was highlighted by a $14M series A led by @a16z and building out an amazing team that has continued to drive Wingspan forward as a trusted leader in payment & lifecycle solutions for the contingent workforce.
The impact of Wingspan has blown me away. This year we hit over 50K active users and are approaching $1 billion in annualized transaction volume. For every dollar spent on Wingspan, we saved our customers $10.
In 2023, our customers went deep in our product and found powerful ways to optimize the entire contingent lifecycle – from onboarding to invoicing to payments to taxes.
The feedback has been phenomenal. Businesses can’t go without it – and contractors enjoy their income being easier to access and manage.
We released over 70 new features, unlocking a new set of capabilities:
- Closing the AR/AP loop by adding Invoicing, ensuring accurate payments and decreasing pay disputes. Combined with Payments, this resolves disjointed AR/AP and sets a new standard for accounting worklfows.
- Released comprehensive API documentation and new SDKs, allowing for customers to onboard with Wingspan faster and embed Wingspan directly in their workflows.
- Expanding our financial tools and benefits so workers can run their businesses like pros. From the Wingspan Wallet to healthcare to pet insurance – Wingspan has contractors covered.
- Launching 1099-NEC filing, so businesses with scaled 1099 networks can automate the creation, reconciliation, filing and delivery of 1099-NEC forms.
What gives me energy though is that we enable our customers to grow. We cracked the code in 2023, and our customers in marketing services, staffing, insurance, and more are feeling it.
