Wingspan Product Update: Work Logging

Managing contractor work hours shouldn't require spreadsheets, separate time-tracking tools, or support tickets. Wingspan's new work logging feature brings the entire cycle — from time entry to payment — into one system, giving clients full control and contractors a faster path to getting paid.

How it works

Clients define what contractors log (hours, units, deliverables, etc.) and set pricing through rate cards. Contractors log their work and submit it for review: approved work converts directly into invoices. The system calculates every line item automatically, so both sides see exactly how amounts are determined.

Rate card transparency and self-serve management

Rate cards are fully visible and editable by clients. Default rates apply at the engagement level, and per-contractor overrides are available when needed.

Built-in review and approval

Work logging supports a complete review cycle. Contractors submit logged work and clients can approve, reject, or request changes — all before an invoice is generated. This puts an approval gate between work submission and payment, giving organizations control over spend.

Correction without the headache

If an error is caught after an invoice is created, but before it's paid, the correction workflow returns the work log for editing, cancels the original invoice, and generates a corrected one. No manual adjustments, no back-channel requests.

Dashboards for both sides

Clients get a dashboard showing all work logs by status — waiting for approval, approved, rejected, and in progress. Contractors see the status of every submitted work log and can respond to change requests right away.

Full audit trail

Every action — edits, approvals, rejections, or status changes — is logged with timestamps and user attribution. Both sides have visibility into what changed and when.
