At Wingspan, we’re focused on solving the unique needs of contractors across the entire management lifecycle. This quarter, we shipped powerful updates that make contractor workflows more efficient and manage international contractors. Here’s a look at what’s new.
Wingspan's new Work Logging feature brings the full contractor work cycle — from time entry to payment — into a single system. Clients define what gets tracked and set pricing via rate cards; contractors log and submit work for review; approved work converts automatically into accurate invoices. Built-in approval workflows, a correction flow that handles post-invoice errors without manual workarounds, real-time dashboards for both sides, and a complete audit trail give organizations the control and visibility they need to manage contractor spend at scale. Available now for all Wingspan clients. Learn more about Work Logging.
Wingspan now correctly handles US citizens, green card holders, and tax residents living abroad — routing them to a W-9 and 1099 instead of a W-8BEN, without requiring a US address. During onboarding, contractors can designate their US person status and provide their SSN or ITIN alongside their foreign address, and the system handles tax verification, form routing, and filing automatically. Existing contractors can add this designation from account settings with no re-onboarding required. For clients managing a globally distributed workforce, this closes a compliance-critical gap that previously had no clean in-platform solution. Learn more about International US Persons Support.
